Hungarian-born American violinist and conductor Joseph Kovacs has passed away – aged 91.

A graduate of the Franz Liszt Royal Hungarian Academy of Music, where he studied with Zoltan Kodaly and Bela Bartok, Mr Kovacs served as longtime Concertmaster of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra – and held a teaching position on faculty at the Westminster Choir College and the Mason Gross School of the Arts.
