Prizes Awarded at Texas’ Bradetich Foundation Double Bass Competition
20 year old Dominik Wagner has been awarded 1st prize at the 2017 2nd Bradetich Foundation International Double Bass Solo Competition
20 year old Dominik Wagner, from Austria, has been awarded 1st prize at the 2017 2nd Bradetich Foundation International Double Bass Solo Competition – in Denton, Texas, United States.
A student of Dorin Marc at the Nuremberg University of Music, Dominik is a former prize winner at the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition - and the ARD, Bottesini, Markneukirchen and Osaka International Double Bass Competitions.
He will receive USD $10,000, a David Herman baroque bow, a New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall, a CD recording and four years of career development support.
2nd prize was awarded to Szymon Marciniak from Poland.
3rd and 4th prizes were awarded to Marek Romanowski from Poland and Mikyung Sung from South Korea.
This year's live audience prize was awarded to Dominik Wagner - and internet-voted prize to Mikyung Sung.
