The LA Philharmonic has today announced a new once-in-a-lifetime initiative offering a talented international violinist the opportunity to perform Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D Minor on stage, with the ensemble and superstar violinist VC Artist Ray Chen.
The international skill-based competition, entitled 'Play with Ray', will see three finalists chosen from online applications, to be flown to Los Angeles to attend masterclasses and concerts - and one grand-prize winner given the opportunity to join Ray and the LA Phil on stage at the Hollywood Bowl on August 8th.
"I want to provide people around the world a fun, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity ..." the Australian virtuoso has said.
“People who have a dream to perform on stage, this project is for you ..." he has said.
Tarisio Fine Instruments and Bows will also be providing the winning violinist the opportunity to perform the concert on a fine Italian instrument.
