Rome Classic Violin Competition Announces Winners
Haik Kazazyan and Lorenz Karls secured the top two spots in the fifth preselection competition for the Classic Violin Olympus
The global journey towards the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition continues to gain momentum as the fifth entry in the competition's six preselection contests comes to a close.
Held from September 9-13, at the esteemed Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, the event showcased 20 of the world's finest violinists vying for a spot in the Classic Violin Olympus’s Grand Finale.
Haik Kazazyan claimed the coveted First Prize, Lorenz Karls secured Second Prize, and Issey Kurihara was awarded Third Prize.
In addition to their share of the €35,000 prize pool, with Haik Kazazyan receiving €20,000, Lorenz Karls €10,000, and Issei Kurihara €5,000, both Haik Kazazyan and Lorenz Karls also earned eligibility to participate in Classic Violin Olympus in Dubai 2025, with all expenses covered.
The jury includes Jury Chairman Pavel Vernikov (Switzerland), Sarah Nemtanu (France), Tedi Papavrami (Albania/Switzerland), Valeriy Sokolov (Ukraine/Germany), and Ulf Wallin (Sweden/Germany).
The spotlight now shifts to Dubai, where the sixth, and final, preselection event awaits at the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management from November 1-5.
