São Paulo Launches New CCR Arts Station Concert Hall
The new space will be inaugurated on the anniversary of the City of São Paulo on January 25, 2025
The government of the state of São Paulo, the Osesp Foundation, and the CCR Group, recently signed an agreement for a new concert hall housed within Brazil’s Júlio Prestes Cultural Complex.
To be officially inaugurated on January 25, 2025, which marks the 471st anniversary of the City of São Paulo, the new Estação CCR das Artes has been built adjacent to the Sala São Paulo — the home of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra.
The new hall will host a variety of events including classical and popular music, dance, theater, literature and film events, plus educational activities.
Designed by Nelson Dupré Arquitetura, the venue is a modular auditorium that accommodates up to 543 people. The space itself can also be configured in different ways.
“The CCR das Artes Station project demonstrates how collaboration between the government, cultural organizations and the private sector is essential to boost culture and transform the city,” said Marília Marton, the Secretary of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry. “Partnerships like this are essential for revitalizing downtown São Paulo and expanding access to culture, offering quality spaces to the population and promoting a positive impact, both culturally and economically,”
“With an eclectic cultural program, Estação CCR das Artes’ mission is to form new audiences, reaching a very broad audience, which is deeply connected with one of the pillars of Instituto CCR’s work — democratizing access to culture,” added CCR’s CEO Miguel Setas.
“The delivery of this new space, plural and dedicated to the arts, is another step by the Osesp Foundation in its vocation to provide quality and accessible culture to São Paulo and the country, with the participation of civil society through responsible and transparent management,” concluded Osesp Foundation’s board president Pedro Parente.
