Armenian-born violinist Serguei Azizian has passed away in Copenhagen, from cancer – aged 60.
A graduate of the Leningrad Conservatory, Professor Azizian was a former Concertmaster of the Copenhagen Philharmonic – and he served a longterm violin teaching position on faculty at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.

In 2009 Mr Azizian was awarded a prestigious Carl Nielsen and Anne-Marie Carl Nielsen Award – in recognition of his contribution to art and culture in Denmark.
