The Cliburn Invites 77 Pianists for 2025 Screening Auditions
30 pianists will then be selected to return for The Cliburn Competition in Fort Worth, Texas, from May 21 to June 7, 2025
Held from March 16–22, 2025, the live auditions for entry into the 17th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition will be held in Pepsico Recital Hall at Texas Christian University.
In all, 77 pianists were chosen from a pool of 340 total applications representing 45 countries and regions to take part in the screening auditions.
Open and free to the public to attend, the auditions will see each participant perform a 25-minute recital before a public audience and an international five-member jury.
The Screen Jury comprises Philippe Bianconi, Gloria Chien, Alexander Kobrin, Momo Kodama, and Roberto Plano.
Ultimately, 30 pianists from the screening will be selected to return for The Cliburn Competition from May 21 to June 7, 2025.
Participants will then perform with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra; the Semifinal and Final Rounds will be conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto and Marin Alsop, respectively.
Chaired by Paul Lewis, the 2025 competition jury will comprise Rico Gulda, Mari Kodama, Anne-Marie McDermott, Gabriela Montero, Jon Nakamatsu, Lise de la Salle, Yevgeny Sudbin, and Wu Han.
