The Twiolins Duo Gets a New Violinist
The Germany-based violin duo has welcomed violinist Marta Danilkovich
The Belarusian violinist Marta Danilkovich has joined The Twiolins, which formerly comprised the siblings Marie-Luise and Christoph Dingler. Danilkovich will succeed Christoph in the duo.
Joining The Twiolins as it recently celebrated its 15th anniversary, Danilkovich has been rehearsing in the duo since August 2024. She will perform in the duo for the first time on January 17, 2025, in works by Vivaldi and Piazolla.
Beginning violin studies at age six, Danilkovich has performed music of varying genres in more than 30 countries, including in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Salzburg Mozarteum.
In 2009, she founded Duo Divites, which has been a top prizewinner at the US Golden Classical Music Awards – plus the Salzburg, Amsterdam, Belgrade, and Geneva International Music Competitions.
Danilkovich plays on an 1820 Raffaele Trapani violin — kindly made available to her by the violin maker Peter Körner.
“After so many years on stage, it’s natural for wishes and priorities to evolve,” The Twiolins posted on Facebook. “Christoph had expressed his desire to travel less and spend more time with his family. After careful consideration and an intensive search, we found a perfect new team member with the amazing violinist Marta Danilkovich. Marta, who had her own violin duo for 10 years, is confident and experienced in the unique demands that playing in this genre entails … We hope you will welcome Marta as warmly as we have!”
