Augustin Hadelich Performance to Close the Violin Society of America 2025 Conference
Hadelich, who won the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, will play a varied program with pianist Chih-Yi Chen
The International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (IVCI) — in collaboration with the Violin Society of America — has invited its 2006 Gold Medalist, VC Artist Augustin Hadelich, to play a recital with IVCI pianist Chih-Yi Chen in the Grand Hall of the Indiana Landmarks Center.
The concert will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024, and there will be a livestream of the concert available to watch on demand through December 2.
The varied program will include works by Poulenc, David Lang, Ysaÿe, Amy Beach, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, and Ravel. For those who cannot attend in person, there are unlimited digital livestream tickets available.
A graduate of the Istituto Mascagni and The Juilliard School, Augustin Hadelich is a recipient of a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, and the 2015 Warner Music Prize.
In 2016, he was awarded the Grammy Award for "Best Classical Instrumental Solo," for his recording of Dutilleux’s Violin Concerto with Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra – and he was honored by Musical America as the 2018 "Instrumentalist of the Year."
Concert highlights from the past two years include return solo engagements with the Boston Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra and Hong Kong Philharmonic - and debuts with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra and the London Philharmonia Orchestra.
