VC GIVEAWAY | Win 1 of 5 Signed Copies of VC Artist Fedor Rudin's New "Heritage" CD

Recorded with pianist Boris Kusnezow, the disc features Fedor's grandfather Edison Denisov's complete repertoire for violin and piano alongside pieces by Russian composers Shostakovich, Prokofiev, and Mussorgsky

 

The Violin Channel, in conjunction with Orchid Classics Records, is this week giving away five personally autographed copies of French-Russian VC Artist Fedor Rudin's new CD, "Heritage."

"The first idea for this album was to do something around the composer Edison Denisov, who was my grandfather," Fedor told The Violin Channel.

"Boris Kusnezow and I recorded all his repertoire for violin and piano, including works that were never published and remained only as manuscripts. There is even one piece that we found after the actual recording was already done but fortunately, we managed to find a last-minute recording session to have it on the CD as well.

"Because of Denisov’s own connection to France, the second axis of this album relates to the French-Russian traditions of the 20th century: Shostakovich, who was his early mentor and teacher, Prokofiev, whose works my grandfather carefully studied while writing his own violin sonata, and Debussy, whom my grandfather admired among other French impressionists.

"Besides the fact that this is such a personal project, since there are so many pieces on the album that were never ever intended to be recorded or performed, we are very curious to see how the listeners will experience this music. And the other well-known pieces, for example, Prokofiev's first violin sonata, will appear in a whole new light in the context of Denisov."

Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
   

8. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
   

9. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
   

10. Winners will be chosen at random using randomization software.
    

11. The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
    

12. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
