VC LIVE | Aronowitz International Viola Competition

Tune in from January 19-25 to watch the full competition for outstanding violists aged 18 and below

We're coming to you LIVE from the Gateshead Quayside, United Kingdom, for the 2025 Aronowitz International Viola Competition. Held in conjunction this year with the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition, the competitions will take place between January 19 and 25, 2025.

The jurors for this year's competition comprises of Thomas Riebl, Li Sheng, Jo Cole, Garfield Jackson, and Ásdís Valdimarsdóttir.

First prize will include a £5,000 cash award, a debut album with Champs Hill Records, and a shared recital at London’s Wigmore Hall in October 2025.

The winner of the CAIVC will also receive a Robert Shallock bow sponsored by Bishop Instruments & Bows Ltd., alongside two sets of Pirastro viola strings and one Pirastro Rosin.
