- Schubert | Fantasy in C major for Violin and Piano, D. 934, Op. 159
The eight concerts in the series are produced and directed by Art Docs, with the generous support of the Frederick R. Koch Foundation.
Each is recorded at the historic Frederick R. Koch Foundation Townhouse — an architecturally stunning location that provides the perfect backdrop for chamber music performances. The concerts honor the late Frederick R. Koch’s lifelong dedication to supporting the visual and performing arts.
The featured Chamber Music Society artists in the series, include VC Artist violist Matthew Lipman, violinists Kristin Lee, Arnaud Sussmann, and Sean Lee, pianists Gilles Vonsattel, and Wu Han, and the Calidore String Quartet.
“This project is guided by Mr. Koch’s amazing spirit, and his appreciation for the finest things that humans can achieve — from literature to the theatre, architecture, to the fine arts, and especially music,” CMS Co-Artistic Director Wu Han has said.
"This series will bring you the most exquisite chamber music played by our CMS musicians as well as four master chamber music pieces, which have been selected specifically from Mr. Koch's private collection. We want to wholeheartedly thank the generosity of the Frederick R. Koch Foundation that has made this incredible eight-week celebration possible.”
The series will stream every Monday evening at 7:30 pm (ET) on both The Violin Channel and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's websites and Facebook pages.
