We're coming to you LIVE for a special concert presented by the Minnesota Orchestra, featuring VC Young Artist Johan Dalene. This concert is presented as part of the Nordic Soundscapes Festival, curated by Minnesota Orchestra music director Thomas Sondergard. The series celebrates Nordic composers and their masterpieces, with this concert featuring works by Ørjan Matre, Carl Nielsen, Hugo Alfvén, and Edvard Grieg.
A student of Janine Jansen and Per Enoksson at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Johan Dalene is the most recent winner of the Norwegian Soloist Prize and a former major 1st prize winner at the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition. His recent debuts include performances with all the major Scandinavian orchestras, as well as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. Johan also served as the Artist-in-Residence of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in its 2020/2021 season. His upcoming performances include debuts with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, and Konzerthausorchester Berlin, as well as solo recitals at Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall.
