VC LIVE | WQXR'S "Pity These Ashes: Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre"

This concert features works by Jessie Montgomery, Alice Coltrane, and Trevor Weston

We’re coming to you from WQXR in New York City for a very special event commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre — an event considered one of the single worst incidents of racial violence in American history.

The concert, in partnership with the Harlem Chamber Players, Harlem Stage, and the Harlem School of the Arts, features conductor Amadi Azikiwe, mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges, violinist Lady Jess, and harpist Ashley Jackson.
