Taiwanese American violinist and VC Young Artist Richard Lin was born on this day 30 years ago.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, Lin is a former major prize winner at the Sendai, Michael Hill, Wieniawski, Shanghai, and Joseph Joachim International Violin Competitions. He was awarded 1st prize at the 2018 Indianapolis International Violin Competitioin.
He has recently soloed with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Indianapolis Symphony, Shanghai Symphony, Poznan Philharmonic, Polish Baltic Philharmonic, Nova Vista Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan Philharmonic, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, and the Amadeus Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra.
Lin plays on the 1683 “ex-Gingold” Stradivarius on loan from the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.
