The Vienna Philharmonic has announced the appointment of 30 year old Austrian violinist Katharina Engelbrecht to their 1st violin section

The Vienna Philharmonic has today announced the appointment of 30 year old Austrian violinist Katharina Engelbrecht to their 1st violin section.

A graduate of the Cologne Hochschule für Musik and the Vienna University of Music, where she studied with Zakhar Bron and Marina Sorokowa, Katharina is a former prize winner at the Hindemith and Kreisler International Violin Competitions.

She has served as a member of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra for the past 4 seasons.
