The 2nd round candidates have today been announced at the inaugural 2018 Viktor Treyakov International Violin Competition – in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

The 2018 2nd round candidates are:

  • VC Young Artist Sergey Dogadin (Russia)
  • Minjia Zhu (China)
  • Kristine Galano (Philippines/United States)
  • Do Gyung Anna Im (South Korea)
  • Takamori Arai (Japan)
  • Runyin Zhang (China)
  • Rimma Benyumova (Russia/Germany)
  • Shukong He (China)
  • Petr Lundstrem (Russia)
  • Chisa Kitagawa (Japan)
  • Ming Liu (China)
  • Leonid Zhelezny (Russia)

Open to international violinists aged 16 to 30, the 1st prize winner will receive US $15,000.

The 2018 jury comprises: Viktor Tretyakov, Boris Kuschnir, Vera Tsu Weiling, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Vadim Repin, Natalya Likhopoy, Aiman Mussakhajayeva, Qian Zhou and Takashi Shimizu.
