American violin virtuoso Berl Senofsky died on this day in 2002.

A student of Louis Persinger and Ivan Galamian, Mr Senofsky is the only American violinist in history to win the coveted Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition – and served long term tenure as Assistant Concertmaster of The Cleveland Orchestra.
