Violinist and Teacher Victor Danchenko Has Died, Aged 83

A student of legendary violinist David Oistrakh, Mr Danchenko taught several international competition winners and concertmasters of major orchestras

Born in Russia, Mr. Danchenko was a gold medalist at the Soviet National Competition.

He was a faculty member at the Curtis Institute, the Peabody Conservatory, and the Glenn Gould School. Some of his students include Soovin Kim, Martin Beaver, Nicholas Kendall, Timothy Fain, Ryu Goto, and Misha Simonyan.
