Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia has announced the appointment of Italian violinist Andrea Obiso as its new Concertmaster
The Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, in Rome, has this week announced the appointment of 25-year-old Italian violinist, Andrea Obiso as its new Concertmaster.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music where he studied with Aaron Rosand, Andrea is the former joint-top prize winner of the 2017 ARD International Violin Competition, in Munich.

Founded in 1908, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia is credited as the first orchestra in Italy to devote itself exclusively to the symphonic repertoire.
Andrea will share the leadership role with current Concertmaster, Carlo Maria Parazzoli.
The orchestra has indicated he was selected from over 80 international applicants for the position.
