Today is Taiwanese-American violin virtuoso Cho-Liang Lin‘s 56th birthday.

A protege of Dorothy DeLay, Jimmy has made appearances with virtually every major orchestra in the world and has received several Grammy nominations, Gramophone Magazine‘s ‘Record of the Year’ award and Musical America Worldwide‘s prestigious ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ accolade.

He currently holds teaching positions at The Juilliard School and Rice University and has served as Music Director of the La Jolla Music Society‘s SummerFest since 2001.

Jimmy currently concertises on the 1715 “Titian” Stradivarius.
