Belgian violinist and composer Jean-Baptiste Accolay died on this day in 1900 – aged 77.
Accolay's signature work is his student Violin Concerto in A Minor, however conjecture exists if he was indeed a real person – with some theorising he was merely a pseudonym assumed by Henri Vieuxtemps for his pedagogical works.
