A student of Ivan Galamian, Jascha Heifetz and Henryk Szeryng, he served as Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic from 1980 until 2014

Today is American violinist Glenn Dicterow's 72nd birthday.

He currently serves on the teaching faculty of the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music.
