Prizes Awarded at Ukraine's Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition
24-year-old Jevgēnijs Čepoveckis has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition
24-year-old Jevgēnijs Čepoveckis, from Latvia, has this week been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition - in Lviv, Ukraine.
A graduate of Vienna University and the Graz University of Music where he studied with Boris Kuschnir, Jevgēnijs a former major prize winner at the Postacchini and Michael Hill International Violin Competitions.
Jevgēnijs, who currently performs on the 1645 'Ex Christian Ferras' grand pattern Nicolo Amati violin on generous loan the the Rare Violins In Consortium, will receive €20,000.

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 20-year-old Kostiantyn Lukyniuk from Ukraine - and 20-year-old VC Young Artist Dmytro Udovychenko from Ukraine.
The 2019 jury comprised: Oleh Krysa (Chairman), Volodymyr Zaransky, Päivyt Meller, Edward Zienkowski, Clara Cernat, Sanghee Cheong and Elisabeth Kropfitsch.
