The Shreveport Symphony has announced the appointment of violinist Kirsten Yon as its new Concertmaster
The Shreveport Symphony in Louisiana, United States, has this week announced the appointment of violinist Kirsten Yon as its new Concertmaster - effective immediately.
A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music and Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, where she studied with Stephen Shipps, William Preucil, David Updegraff, and Kathleen Winkler, Kirsten has previously served as Concertmaster of the Bayou City Chamber Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony, Caprock Pro Musica Sinfonietta, Ballet Lubbock and the Cypress Symphony.
"There's a wonderful chemistry between Kirsten and the orchestra ... she possesses a marvelous blend of technical skill, leadership experience, and musical insight ..." Music Director Michael Butterman has this week said.
"I'm thrilled that she is joining us as our new Concertmaster and am excited about the role she will play in the continued artistic growth of our orchestra," he has said.
