American Violinist Sergiu Luca Died On This Day in 2010 [ON-THIS-DAY]

Romanian-born American violinist Sergiu Luca died on this day in 2010.

A student of Ivan Galamian, Mr Luca was a founding member of the Chamber Music Northwest, Cascade Head Music Festival, Da Camera Society of Houston and the Context Chamber Group – and served a long term teaching position on faculty at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music.

He passed away from bile-duct cancer – aged 67.
