Czech conductor and violinist Václav Neumann was born on this day in 1920.
Dying in 1995, Maestro Neumann was a founding violinist with the Smetana Quartet– and served coveted conducting positions with the Komische Oper Berlin, Leipzig Gewandhausorchester and the Czech Philharmonic.
