Violinist Yehonatan Berick Has Died, Age 52

He served as a Professor of Violin at the University of Ottawa's School of Music, and previously taught at the University of Michigan, McGill University, the Eastman School of Music, and the University of Toronto
Ottawa-based violinist Yehonatan Berick has passed away due to cancer.
Born in Israel, Berick studied in Cincinnati before moving to Canada in the mid-1990s.
“We are devastated to hear of the passing of our violin faculty member and friend, Yehonatan Berick,” a Facebook post by the University of Ottawa’s Summer String Academy reads. “He was a truly incredible and brilliant musician, pedagogue, and person. Yehonatan’s energetic and warm personality set the tone for our program and he will forever be missed. Our deepest condolences go out to his family in this difficult time.”
