Prizes Awarded at Austria’s International Johannes Brahms Viola Competition

This week, Japanese violist Takehiro Konoe was awarded 1st prize at the 27th International Johannes Brahms Viola Competition, in Portschach, Austria

A student at the Amsterdam Conservatory, Takehiro Konoe is a former major prize winner at the ARD International Violin Competition.

He will receive EUR 2500.

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to Momoko Aritomi and Emiko Yuasa.

The 2020 jury comprised: Jerzy Kosmala, Gareth Lubbe, Alissa Margulis, Nora Romanoff-Schwarzberg, and VC Artist Diyang Mei.
