25-year-old Jamaican-American violist Jordan Bak is building an international reputation as one of the new generation’s most outstanding young string soloists

25-year-old Jamaican-American violist Jordan Bak is building an international reputation as one of the new generation’s most outstanding young string soloists.

A graduate of The Juilliard School and New England Conservatory, Jordan is a former major prize winner at the Sphinx Competition and the Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition - and former recipient of a Sphinx MPower Artist Grant and the Samuel Sanders Tel Aviv Museum Prize.

His recent collaborations include performances with András Keller, Mihaela Martin, Ani Kavafian, Colin Carr and Emanuel Gruber and members of the Borromeo, Brentano, Calidore, Cavani, Cleveland, Juilliard, Michelangelo and Parker Quartets.

Jordan currently performs on a 2016 Jon van Kouwenhoven modern viola - and serves as a teaching assistant at The Juilliard School to the Amory/Castleman/Huang/Tenenbom Viola Studio.
