Russian-born American violinist Emanuel Borok has passed away – aged 75.
A graduate of the Gnessin Music School, in Moscow, Mr Borok served from 1985 to 2010 as Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra – and held teaching positions on faculty at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, the University of North Texas in Denton and the University of Houston.
He has previously served as Second Concertmaster of the Moscow Philharmonic, Concertmaster of the Israel Chamber Orchestra – and for 11 years as Associate Concertmaster of the Boston Symphony.
“My dad, Emanuel Borok, passed away, surrounded by his children and wife … rest in Peace, Pap … you are larger than life, and I love you so very very much,” Mr Borok’s daughter has today posted posted on social media.
