6 String Players Named in Australian ‘Young Performer of the Year’ Final

The 12 finalists for the 2015 Australian ‘Young Performer of the Year’ Awards have today been announced – including 6 string players.
The 2015 finalists are:
- Zoe Freisberg (Violin)
- Doretta Balkizas (Violin)
- Lily Higson-Spence (Violin)
- Christopher Cartlidge (Viola)
- Rachel Siu (Cello)
- Mee Na Lojewski (Cello)
- Peter de Jager (Piano)
- Aaron Liu (Piano)
- Vatche Jambazian (Piano)
- Lloyd Van’t Hoff (Clarinet)
- Kiran Phatak (Flute)
- Ennes Mehmedbasic (Oboe)
Regarded as Australia’s most prestigious classical music prize for instrumentalist 30 years and younger – previous winners include international string soloists: Adele Anthony, Liwei Qin and Ji Won Kim and VC ‘Young Artist’ Suyeon Kang and 'Rising Star' Grace Clifford.
The finals will take place in Hobart, in three stages over 10 days from October 29th to November 7th, 2015.
The Australian ‘Young Performer of the Year’ will receive AUD $25,000, a CD recording and a number of important, domestic solo engagements.
