The 3 Intermediate Violin Finalists have today been announced at the 2017 Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians
The 3 Group B (13 to 16 Years Old) Violin Finalists have today been announced at the 2017 2nd Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians – in Zhuhai, China.
The 2017 Group B Intermediate Violin Finalists are:
- María Dueñas Fernández (14, Spain)
- Miyu Kitsuwa (16, Japan)
- Chaowen Luo (16, China)

For the Final stage of the Intermediate competition, each candidate will present the 1st movement from a major violin concerto with piano - plus will lead a Mozart Violin Concerto with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists.
This year’s competition is held in 3 age categories: Group A (12 Years and Under), Group B (13 to 16 Years Old) and Group C (17 to 23 Years Old).
Presented by the University of Mozarteum Salzburg, the Intermediate Group B 1st prize winner will receive US $15,000.
The 2017 jury comprises: Paul Roczek (Artistic Director), Friedemann Eichhorn (Jury Chair), Shmuel Ashkenasi, Harald Eggebrecht, Ani Schnarch, Akiko Tatsumi, Weidong Tong and Lina Yu.
