20 year old Romanian violinist Ioana Cristina Goicea has been awarded 1st Prize at the 2013 Brahms International Violin Competition, in Poertschach, Austria
A student of the Rostock Academy of Music and the 'Felix Mendelssohn-Batholdy” Music Academy, in Leipzeg, Ionan is a former 1st prize winner at the Kloster Schontal, Andrea Postacchini and Kocian International Violin Competitions
2nd and 3rd Prizes were awarded to Benjamin Marquise Gilmore from Great Britain and Danfeng Shen from China
Ioana was in addition awarded the competition's audience prize
Emily Sun, from Australia, was awarded the 'Vadim Repin Mozart Prize' for the best interpretation of a Mozart Violin Concerto
