England's 2021 New Year Honours List Announced

As part of the British honours system, the list includes renowned professionals in the music industry

Conductor and musicologist Jane Glover received a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her trailblazing career as a female conductor.

The director and founder of the Birmingham Opera, Graham Vick, was granted a Knighthood.

Those awarded Commanders of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) include composer Julian Anderson, pianist and conductor Barry Douglas, conductor Daniel Harding, and the CEO and founder of Grange Park Opera, Wasfi Kani.

The Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) include cellist Natalie Clein and the organist, pianist, and conductor Wayne Marshall, while a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) went to violinist and former leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Bradley Creswick.
