Belarusian-born Canadian accordion virtuoso Alexander Sevastian has died from a massive heart attack - aged just 41.
A graduate of the Gnessin Academy of Music and the University of Toronto, where he studied with Friedrich Lips and Joseph Macerollo, Alexander is a former 1st prize winner at the Oslofjord National Accordion Competition, Russian Cup of the North, the Anthony Galla-Rini Accordion Competition and the Coupe Mondiale International Accordion Competition.

He is survived by his wife Anya and two children.
