American Conductor Alan Gilbert Hospitalized With COVID-19

The former music director of the New York Philharmonic was admitted to the hospital and is undergoing treatment
Alan Gilbert is hospitalized after contracting COVID-19 in Stockholm, Sweden. He is reportedly recovering from the illness.
"As some people are already aware, I’ve recently contracted COVID-19, was admitted to hospital over the weekend and am responding well to treatment," Gilbert said in a post on Facebook. "Many people have been trying to reach me and I want to thank you all for your concern. I am looking forward to having some quiet time now to focus on my recovery."
Gilbert is currently the Music Director of the Royal Swedish Opera — which recently shut down due to an outbreak of COVID019 cases. It is unclear whether Gilbert's case is from said outbreak.
