Applications Closing for Australian Chamber Orchestra Academy
The annual Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) Academy promises a week full of enriching activities for all shortlisted participants, including orchestral rehearsals, sectionals, and chamber music sessions. Led by ACO violinist Aiko Goto, participants will receive coaching and mentoring from esteemed ACO musicians which will further elevate their level of musicianship
Open to violinists 11-18 years old who enrolled in a Public or Independent Australian Primary School or High School, the academy will be held at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music from July 4-8, 2022.
To apply, applicants must record two separate video recordings of two contrasting pieces. All pieces must be recorded with piano accompaniment, with the exception of pieces that are written for unaccompanied solo instrument. For more information, visit here.
Recommended playing levels include:

- Violin: 8th grade AMEB / Suzuki Book 7 or equivalent
- Viola: 6th grade AMEB / Suzuki Book 5 or equivalent
- Cello: 6th grade AMEB / Suzuki Book 5 or equivalent
- Double Bass: 5th grade AMEB / Suzuki Book 4 or equivalent
