Held from May 22–25, 2025, in Frankfurt, the Academy will provide masterclasses for violinists, violists, and cellists of all ages

Founded and directed by violinist Kirill Troussov, the Engers Academy will take place from May 22–25, 2025, at the Château Engers near Frankfurt, Germany.

The program will involve four 45-minute masterclasses, masterclass concerts with piano, a professors’ concert, and a final chamber music concert. Tutors will include Christian Altenburger and Kirill Troussov for violin, Lawrence Power for viola classes, and Benedict Kloeckner for cello classes.

To apply, click here and scroll down for the application form; the deadline is March 8, 2025. The Academy jury will make its decision solely based on musical skills.

Major prizes at the Academy will include the Engers Award, which will see the winner perform solo at Kloeckner’s acclaimed IMUKO International Music Festival in Koblenz, Germany.

The mandatory accommodation at the Château Engers is €570, which includes five nights and full board (three meals a day). The course will cost €799 for four lessons. There is no application fee.

The selected participants will be sent a confirmation email on March 22, 2025. Fees for booked masterclasses must be paid by April 5, 2025.

“With many years of experience in master-classes, competitions, academies and online lessons, it has always been my dream to bring string academies to the next level — adding more valuable ingredients than the master-classes alone, especially chamber music projects and the concept of all participants not only working but also living together, creating a dense atmosphere, an enriching environment and an inspiring experience,” Troussov said.

“Having begun this dream with the Carl Flesch Academy, in 2023, I am delighted and thankful to have found a competent partner in the Château Engers, who provides not only a unique location but also has many years of experience in classical music education and classical music concerts.”
