Applications Closing for the 2026 Azrieli Music Prizes
With applications closing soon, emerging and established composers are encouraged to apply before May 2
Canada's Azrieli Music, Arts and Culture Centre is seeking composers to apply for its four major Azrieli Music Prizes (AMP). This round, AMP is accepting works for choir and orchestra, with optional soloists, and the application period is open until May 2, 2025.
Created in 2014 by Sharon Azrieli CQ for the Azrieli Foundation, AMP offers each laureate a package that includes a cash award of $50,000 CAD; a premiere of the prize-winning work at a gala concert in Montreal during the 2026-27 season, which will also be livestreamed globally; at least two subsequent international performances; and a commercial recording release.
Open to composers of all ages, genders, nationalities, faiths, and backgrounds, this sixth edition marks AMP’s largest call in its 10-year history.
The competition includes four categories: The Azrieli Commission for International Music, The Azrieli Commission for Canadian Music, The Azrieli Commission for Jewish Music, and The Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music.
