Applications Closing for The Colburn School's 2025 Sounding Point Academy
Based in Los Angeles, this two-week program is open to violinists of all ages looking to further their knowledge and performance skills
The Sounding Point Academy, founded by Robert Lipsett and Fabiola Kim, serves to nurture the next generation of soloists, chamber musicians, orchestral musicians, and pedagogues. The program will take place at The Colburn School in Los Angeles, California, from June 2 to June 14, 2025.
Applications are now open for this live, in-person program. It will cover all facets of violin playing — including masterclasses with world-leading artists, lessons, orchestra excerpt coaching, and more. Public speaking, technique, and other professional skills courses will also be offered to participants.
To apply, students should submit a video recording of themselves playing the first movement of a standard concerto, or a piece of equivalent length and difficulty. There is a non-refundable application fee of $40, which will be put towards course fees if the application is successful.
There is no age limit, but students must be at least 15 years old to be in residence during the course.
