Applications Open for 2018 Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition [APPLY]
Applications are now open for the 2nd Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition – to be held in Shanghai, China from 10 August to 1 September, 2018.
Open to violinists of any nationality aged between 16 and 32, the 2018 1st prize winner will receive US $100,000.
The 2018 jury will comprise: David Stern, Vera Tsu Weiling, Zakhar Bron, Martin Campbell-White, Glenn Dicterow, Augustin Dumay, Daniel Heifetz, Emmanuel Hondré, Sreten Krstic, Weigang Li, Siqing Lu, Dora Schwartzberg, Philip Setzer, Maxim Vengerov and Lina Yu.

All candidates admitted to the opening public round in Shanghai will receive up to US $1000 travel reimbursement – in addition to complimentary accommodation.
Any applicants who have received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize at the Tchaikovsky, Queen Elisabeth or Wieniawski International Violin Competitions will be exempt from DVD pre-selection - and will be provided with travel reimbursement and free accommodation to attend the opening live round in China.
