Applications Open for Colburn School Conservatory of Music
The Los Angeles-based school is accepting applications for undergraduate and graduate studies
The Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California, is now accepting applications for the 2023 school year.
Prospective students can apply to get a Bachelor of Music (BM), Performance Diploma (PD), Master of Music in Performance (MM), Professional Studies Certificate (PSC), and Artist Diploma (AD).
Conservatory students are chosen based on the current instrumentation of the Colburn Orchestra and piano department. Applications are accepted for instrumental areas with openings for that enrollment period. To see which studios have openings, check out the Current Openings page.

All admitted students receive full tuition scholarships and grants that cover housing and meals — and Colburn offers access to on-campus residential services.
Conservatory string faculty include esteemed artists such as violinists Martin Beaver and Robert Lipsett, violist Tatjana Masurenko, cellist Clive Greensmith, and double bassist Peter Lloyd. Other faculty members include pianist Fabio Bidini and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen.
Noted alumni include violinists Simone Porter, Blake Pouliot, Nigel Armstrong, and William Hagen, and ensembles such as the Calder Quartet, Calidore String Quartet, and Viano String Quartet.
