Applications Open for International Society of Bassists’ Orchestra Audition Grants
The program supports members of the society with expenses involved in auditioning for professional orchestras
The International Society of Bassists (ISB) Joe Guastafeste Orchestra Audition Grant Program is supported by the family, friends, fans, and colleagues of the late Joe Gustafeste, who served as principal bass of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 49 years.
Awarded once a quarter (around every three months), one $500 grant will assist ISB members with expenses associated with auditioning for a professional orchestra — including but not limited to travel, lodging, and instrument rental.
Grant recipients will be notified on or around March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31, 2024.
To receive the grant, applicants must provide proof of acceptance and completion of an in-person audition, plus expense receipts.
If a grant is not awarded for a quarter, the money is reserved for future grants. Applications received at the end of a quarter may be carried over for consideration in the next round.
