Applications Open for New Music USA's New Music Inc Program
This regional incubator program is targeted at Los Angeles new-music organizations with an operating budget of less than $500,000
Applications are now open for New Music Inc, a regional incubator program run by New Music USA. The program supports contemporary-music groups and organizations that are artist-led and have small budgets, helping them to generate new ideas, strategies, and collaborations at pivotal stages in the group's development.
Each year, the program focuses on a different geographical area, and in the 2025 cycle, New Music USA is accepting applications from those based in Los Angeles County.
The selected organizations will receive 17 months of hands-on skill-building in a cohort environment intended to foster collective learning and collaboration. This will be led and facilitated by Los Angeles Performance Practice (LAPP).
To apply, organizations should have an average operating budget of between $10,000 to $500,000 over the last 3 years, though applications are more strongly encouraged from those with a budget of under $250,000. The wide budget range is designed to facilitate greater cross-collaboration and peer learning between organizations of different sizes and types.
Ten Los Angeles-based organizations will be selected, and they will receive a $10,000 grant for general support, assistance in developing a strategic plan, eight cohort learning sessions (3 in-person, 5 virtual), four 1:1 check-ins between participant organizations and the Program Coordinator, 4-6 dedicated mentorship sessions with a Los Angeles-based arts professional, up to $4,000 to be used as a travel exchange, and additional opportunities to collaborate and exchange with alumni cohort members based in New York, Chicago, and Baltimore.
The deadline for applications is July 31, 2025, 11:59 pm PST. You can find out more here.
