Applications Open for the Adelphi Orchestra's 2024 Young Artist Competition

String players, woodwind players, and pianists of any nationality under the age of 23 should apply for this opportunity by February 1, 2024

The Adelphi Orchestra is now accepting applications for the twentieth edition of its Young Artist Competition. Open to string players, woodwind players, and pianists of any nationality under the age of 23, the competition will afford its winner the opportunity to appear solo with the Adelphi Orchestra as part of its 2024/25 season.

The competition is comprised of three categories: College (18-23), Senior (15-18), and Junior (14 and under). To apply, students should submit a recording of themselves playing a short piece or movement by February 1, 2024.

Those selected to proceed to the finals will give a live recital at the National Opera Center in New York City on April 20, 2024, and the ultimate winner will be selected from these recitals. You can fill out the application form here.

Previous winners of the competition include Randall Goosby and Nathan Meltzer.

Based in New Jersey, the Adelphi Orchestra is a professional, non-profit group and is one of northern New Jersey's longest continuously performing orchestras. The ensemble has a particular focus on supporting young musicians and has hosted its Young Artist Competition for the past twenty years.
