Applications Open for Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music Summer Strings Program
Serious string players aged between 12 and 18 should apply for this outstanding opportunity by February 12, 2024
Applications are now open for the Summer String Program, held annually at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. The Academy is open to serious string players aged between 12 and 18 and offers the opportunity for these players to work with Jacobs' renowned faculty.
The program will take place between June 22 and July 20, 2024. Students will take part in private lessons, chamber music, master classes, performance opportunities, and personal practice time, as well as have access to the 2024 Indiana University Summer Music Festival.
Faculty at the Academy includes Mimi Zweig, Amir Eldan, Brenda Brenner, Sarah Kapustin, and the Pacifica Quartet.
To apply, prospective students should complete the online registration form and pay the application fee of $75. They should also upload an audition video containing two contrasting movements or pieces, as well as a letter of recommendation from their teacher. The deadline for applications is February 12, 2024.

The concurrent Junior String Academy is also available to students who are at an intermediate level (those who can play the Bach A Minor Concerto and can complete 2-3 hours of practice each day). The application deadline for this course is April 1, 2024, and you can read more here.
