Applications Open for the Kaufman Music Center's 2023 SummerFest
This week-long intensive program from August 21-25 offers lessons, masterclasses, performance opportunities, and workshops with renowned guest artists
Open to pianists, violinists, and cellists aged 14 - 22, New York's Kaufman Music Center is now accepting applications for its 2023 SummerFest program.
Directed by Kaufman Music Center’s Igal Kesselman, SummerFest will welcome guest artists Alan Chow (piano), Amir Eldan (cello), Richard Goode (piano), Grigory Kalinovsky (violin), Ani Kavafian (violin), Masao Kawasaki (violin), Clara Minhye Kim (cello), Julia Lichten (cello), Midori (violin), Awadagin Pratt (piano), Orli Shaham (piano), Robert Shannon (piano) and David Ying (cello).
Workshop artists are Peter Dugan (piano), Curtis Stewart (piano) and Charles Yang (violin). Chamber music faculty include Alex Croxton (cello), Natela Mchedlishvili (piano), and Nurit Pacht (violin).
Participants will get the opportunity to learn from faculty of America's top conservatories, including The Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music, Yale School of Music, Eastman School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Oberlin College & Conservatory as well as Kaufman Music Center.
During the course of the week, each student will receive lessons and participate in masterclasses, as well as receive chamber music coaching alongside other students. They will also get to perform solo and with chamber ensembles at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Hall and take part in workshops.
Tuition for the week is $950, and there is an application fee of $50, with scholarship assistance available. Deadline to apply: April 15.
