Applications Open for Tibor Junior International Violin Competition
Applications are open for the third edition of the Tibor Junior International Violin Competition until April 21, 2022.
The candidates will be accompanied by the Sion Festival Orchestra for the 1st and 2nd rounds, and by the Korean Chamber Orchestra for the final. They will also play with another candidate in the 1st round and with a member of the Jury in the final. In addition, the violinists will play a piece for violin and orchestra composed especially for the competition by composer Uri Brener.
The following prizes will be awarded:
- 1st Prize: CHF 8,000
- 2nd Prize: CHF 3,000
- 3rd Prize: CHF 2,000
- Foundation Prize: a violin worth CHF 10’000
The jury will be composed of Pavel Vernikov, Kevork Mardirossian, Tedi Papavrami, Monika Urbaniak, Thomas Wei.
Previous winners include Masha Lakisova, who won first prize at the inaugural Tibor Junior International Violin Competition in 2018, and Lora Markova, who won in 2021.
