Association of Performing Arts Professionals Names 2025 YPCA Artists
Five young musicians, including VC Artist Nathan Meltzer, will receive industry mentoring and perform in the YPCA Showcase in January 2025
Based in Washington, D.C., the Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) is a non-profit organization supporting performing arts presenting, booking, touring, and professionals who work in the sector. With 1,700 members worldwide, APAP also hosts an annual APAP|NYC conference — a world-leading performing arts gathering and marketplace held in New York City.
As part of the conference, APAP also administers the Young Performers Career Advancement Program (YPCA), which supports classical musicians who are in the early stages of their careers. The program is now in its 27th year.
The selected artists for 2025 are saxophonist Valentin Kovalev, violinist Lun Li, VC Artist violinist Nathan Meltzer, flutist Anthony Trionfo, and violinist Adé Williams.
Selected by a team of industry experts on APAP’s Classical Connections Committee, the YPCA artists will receive guidance from industry professionals and develop strategies for communicating with presenters, managers, audiences, and other artists.
They will also get a practical overview of the presenting and touring industry, and receive tutoring in audience engagement. Alongside this, they will work on setting some long-term career goals, focusing on developing their identities as artists.
The 2025 YPCA Artists will perform in a showcase at Merkin Hall on January 13, 2025 at 7 PM (ET). You can RSVP for the showcase here.
